Private Lessons

Lessons teach the student to become more proficient at their instrument and how to master successful audition techniques. Many skills taught in lessons are also valuable life skills, including time management, planning for attainable long-term and short-term goals, and how to control apprehension in a high pressure situation. (Auditions can be scary, but don't have to be!) As I tell my students, preparation is the key to success!

Over the past seventeen years, my students have won chairs in Region, Area, and All-State Bands, earned superior ratings at TSSEC, and won scholarships into major universities.

A frequently asked question I get: Are college scholarships are available to non-music majors? The answer is- yes! It depends on the university, but many do offer non-music major scholarships. Most require the student to play in a major ensemble (college marching band and/or wind ensemble) to qualify for the scholarship.

Lessons are available in-person in Athens, Tyler, and via Zoom.
